Meeting Minutes

May 8, 2017

Present: Joe Humbertson, Dawn Humbertson,  Kathy Higinbotham, Peter Ricciuti,  Sara Vaughn, Peter Ricciuti,  Dan Failacci,   Nancy Voell,   Traci Poppart,  Dana Cunningham, Mike Hillman, Trish Abell, Beth White, Linda Runner, Frankie Runner,  Alisa Giles, Theresa Anderson,   Alice Zalatoris, Carlos Stone, Sonia Stone, Jamie Hendi. Gretchen Lord, Kathy Dengler.
 
The meeting was called to order at 7:34 pm

Motion to approve April, 2017 Minutes – Dan Failacci,  2nd by Kathy Higinbotham,  Approved by members present.

Secretary’s Report
  • Volunteer Hours were reported totaling over 4000 for the previous 12 months.
Student accounts
  • 1st payment for new band year is due May 22.
  • Balances due from students who participated in candy bar sales will be deducted from accounts
  • For students with a credit, parents should let Kathy H know if they want the amount applied to next year.
President’s Report
  • Reviewed bylaws change and upcoming events.
Election for Board of Directors

The election took place with the following results for the Board for the 2017-2018 band season:
President:  Joe Humbertson
1st VP:        Peter Ricciuti
2nd VP for student accounts:  Kathy Higinbotham
Secretary:  Dan Failacci
Treasurer : Dana Cunningham
The election was officiated by Dawn Humberson

A vote was held amend the bylaws to add a provision for At Large board members.  The motion was approved unanimously by members present.

Fundraising:  
  • one fundraiser added to calendar and the new calendar will be emailed.
  • Car Wash:  Dates are June 17, July 22 & 29,  Aug 5th   1:30 – 5:00 in the Wolf Furniture parking lot.  Students are asked to sign up to work at least 1 wash.
  • Upcoming fundraising events include restaurant nights at Chipotle and Glory Days.  They will be  posted on the band calendar.
Pit Crew:
  • next event is Graduation May 30 – all preparations are in place
  • Prop planning is underway and there will be an email request coming to ask for help cleaning out the storage trailers.

Chaperones:

  • We are looking for a person to take over leadership of the Uniform Room.

New Business:

  • Proposal to sell food at a Farmers Market.  Discussion indicated that this would be a huge commitment.  No action taken, members agreed that a core group of parents would have to commit to this project before the board would move forward.

Upcoming Events:

  • Jazz Night: May 20
  • Graduation: May 30
