January 21, 2019

Present:  Dan Failacci, Kim Stevens, Greg & Theresa Anderson, Kate Dudash, Mike Hillman, Shari Nakamoto, Barbara Kemp, Laura Busch, Traci Poppert, Gretchen Lord, Nick Gasemy
       
Call to Order
Meeting began at 7:33 and was presided over by Mike Hillman, with Dan Failacci as secretary.

Approval of Previous Minutes:
December Booster Meeting minutes approved (Greg/Kate).  

President’s Report:  Executive Board met for January.  
  • Budget reviewed as always
  • Upcoming events reviewed:
  • All County Rehearsal – Thur 1/24 and Friday all day.  Concert Satruday 1/26
    • Indoor shows:  
      • 2/2:    Spring Grove (both)
      • 2/16:  Waynesboro (Guard)
      • 2/23:  WGI Regional (Percussion)
      • 3/2:    WGI Regional (Guard)
      • 3/9:    Tuscarora (both)

Vice President’s Report:  
  • Accessory forms sent out.  Teresa taking care of some things
  • Concessions this weekend for HS All county this weekend – Dudash family covering
  • Need someone to help with concessions Saturday 2/2 for Middle School All County concert
Secretary:
  • No report
Treasurer :      
  • Dana out – no report.  See attached budget with the minutes.
  • As always, ask Dana for specific details/questions.
Directors Report :
  • Thanks for helping and being patient with the weather.
  • All county HS ensembles’ sound good. Indoor excused for All county
  • Shows are coming together for indoor
  • Ready for next semester – concert band season
  • Remind – Verizon retracting fee notice (unofficial).  Download the app or sign up for email to continue to get alerts.
  • Facebook percussion group being dissolved.  Nick to set up google classroom group for percussion
Student Accounts:
  • 103 students on the list as “active” – 48 have negative or zero balance, 12 still owe significant amount.  
  • Deposits have been entered and statements going out in the next day or so.
  • Reminder:  Banquet is coming up, and your student account must be paid up in full to attend banquet – no exceptions.
Committee Reports

Fundraising:
  • Barnes & Noble gift wrapping – only made $200 (not $1k like in the past), as they would not let us pass out flyers.  Currently puts us tracking about $2k behind
  • Cookie bake sale – variety box - $10/each.  Already sold 25 boxes on social media.  Asking for every student to sell 2 boxes (MANDATORY if you are in indoor).  Notice will go out on Find Out First.
    Cookie drop off 2/9 @ 8-10am, pickup 10-2pm
  • Not all the numbers in yet from Christmas Tre pickup – but about what we did last year.
  • Future – Beer tasting/Restaurant night in the works
  • Yankee Candle Mother’s Day – pickup night of banquet
  • Yard sale late April/early May – Willowbrook.
Uniform Report:
Teresa taking over for indoor
   
Pit Crew report:
Doug taking the lead for color guard, Joe taking the lead for percussion.
Construction for Indoor props done.  Nick will be having a paint party with the students for the desks.

Chaperones:  
Reach out to Jamie Hendi if interested in helping out. Likely some spots open for color guard
