Meeting Minutes

April 10, 2017

The meeting was called to order at 7:52 pm
President’s Report
  • The band budget for next year is being finalized.  Marching band fees stayed the same at $550.  
  • We will not sell concessions during the Spring concert
 Treasurer’s Report
  • KIDA show net income was about $5400,
  • Uniform upgrade cost - $15000
 Student Accounts
  •  Collections ongoing
  • Volunteer hours will be reported to FCPS at the end of April
  • Applebees breakfast raised about $500,  next year it will move to November.
  • Marchathon – Will start in May and run throughout the year.  Students will get a letter they can send to anyone to ask for donations.  The money will go to the student’s account.  There no limit to how much the student can raise and donations are tax deductible.   The money be applied to any band costs including the Disney trip.
  • Car Wash  - 4 washes during the summer,  each student is asked to sign up for at least 1.  4-5 parents are needed for each wash.
 New Business
  • Board election will take place on May 8 at the general meeting. 1st VP and Treasurer positions are open.  There is a proposed bylaws change to add the power for the board to appoint at-large board members to work on special projects.
